Graduate Diploma in Statistics

Programme Director: Dr Andris Abakuks

The Graduate Diploma in Statistics is a two-year programme designed for students with mathematical ability who wish to learn more about Statistics and its applications. It is one of a suite of Statistics programmes offered here at Birkbeck. By focusing exclusively on Statistics, this course allows you to cover all of the Statistics offered as part of our BSc Mathematics and Statistics programme. A one-year Graduate Certificate in Statistics is also available.

Lectures and other teaching activities take place in the evenings, from 6 to 9pm, mainly during the autumn and spring terms, with revision classes in the summer term. Entrance requirements

The normal admission requirement is A-level Mathematics or equivalent, for example, the Open University Course Using Mathematics, or the Certificate of Higher Education in Mathematical Studies that is run by Birkbeck College.

Otherwise well-qualified students whose mathematical background is not up to A-level standard are likely to find the Diploma course very demanding.
