"Working as a programmer in the City, I decided it would be more challenging and lucrative to get a job as a Quantitative Analyst on a trading desk and Birkbeck allowed me to re-skill in economics and finance without having to give up my day job! It was more than just acquiring new skills though, since I met many people in the trading business, and also rekindled my love of learning.

After completing the MSc in Finance I landed a role on a quantitative trading desk at a successful hedge fund and am now completing my skill set at Birkbeck with an MSc in Applied Statistics - a great degree for any budding statistical arbitrageur.
